Title: Cloudy alphabet soup: Case of warm autoantibody and a hidden surprise!

  • Interpret results of serologic tests in a case of warm autoantibody and underlying alloantibodies.
  • Discuss methods to detect alloantibody in the presence of warm autoantibody.
  • List options for transfusion of patients with warm autoantibody.

Day 2: April 26, 2022

Title: Tackling those nebulous, troublesome, nuisance, interfering antibodies referred to as “high titer low avidity”

Objectives:

  • Discuss the concept of “high titer low avidity antibodies” (HTLA) and the blood groups associated with them.
  • Describe methods used to differentiate such antibodies, including titration, neutralization and enzyme sensitivity.
  • Describe the reactivity patterns associated with these antibodies and their clinical implications.

Title: Duffy phenotyping & genotyping as a diagnostic tool for benign constitutional neutropenia
