We were fortunate to have CUNY Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez stop by to donate at CUNY John Jay College’s 9/11 25th Anniversary Commemoration blood drive on September 9.
During his visit, he greeted donors and took time to speak with both donors and our staff. While at the drive, NYBC Account Manager Romario White had the opportunity to connect with Chancellor Matos Rodríguez and discuss ways to improve the number of student blood donations, as well as the importance of CUNY’s continued partnership with New York Blood Center.
Following the conversation, Chancellor Matos Rodríguez connected us with members of his team to explore opportunities to strengthen and deepen our partnership across CUNY colleges. We are now in early discussions to schedule meetings and identify ways we can work together to increase student engagement and blood donations throughout the CUNY system.
This is an exciting opportunity to build on our longstanding partnership with CUNY and engage its students in helping meet the ongoing need for blood.
