It’s a good day at work when you meet an NYBC blood-lebrity!
When longtime sickle cell advocate Stacey Sottile recently spoke with donors at the God’s Love We Deliver Sickle Cell Awareness Blood Drive, our staff struck up a conversation with her. Then Stacey revealed that she’s the familiar face featured on the sides of NYBC bloodmobile trucks. “So that’s where we’ve seen you!”

Team member Lucy even brought home Stacey’s children’s book, Guess Who? Mama Pooh!, which shares her experience growing up with sickle cell disease and helps raise awareness of the condition.
We’re grateful for advocates like Stacey who help shine a light on sickle cell disease and the importance of blood donation.
