On Wednesday, September 23, Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso visited New York Blood Center’s (NYBC) Brooklyn Donor Center to meet staff, learn more about NYBC’s work and history, and discuss challenges facing the blood supply.
The Office of the Brooklyn Borough President has run blood drives with NYBC going back to 2002 and most recently sponsored a drive in April 2026. In addition, Deputy Borough President Kim Council spoke at NYBC’s National Blood Donor Month press conference in January.During his visit, Borough President Reynoso filmed a PSA encouraging Brooklynites to donate blood. The video can be viewed on Instagram and Facebook. Borough President Reynoso also voiced his support for onward blood drives and initiatives with NYBC.
