New York Blood Center (NYBC) and the New York Yankees came together at historic Yankee Stadium to celebrate an extraordinary group of high schools whose leadership and commitment to blood donations helped save thousands of lives across our region. Thanks to the generosity of the New York Yankees, schools were invited to attend the game and be honored for the impact of their collective efforts.

On Tuesday, June 30, students, faculty, and high school champions were recognized during a special, pre-game on-field celebration as part of the annual High School Blood Drive Championships. Representatives from each winning school were joined by Jeannie Mascolino, Vice President of Operations for NYBC, as they were recognized behind home plate before the Yankees faced the Detroit Tigers.
This year’s participating schools demonstrated outstanding dedication in hosting and promoting local blood drives. Through their efforts, students not only supported their communities but also contributed to nearly 35,000 blood donations this school year—an incredible achievement with lifesaving impact for patients in need. Winning schools were recognized for excellence across multiple categories.
