Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community, this week’s New York Islanders Blood Drive was a tremendous success. Held at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, the home of the Islanders, the drive collected 261 units of blood, enough to help save the lives of more than 750 patients across the region.
The event brought together NYBC staff, dedicated volunteer donors, and partners from the New York Islanders organization for a day focused on teamwork, community, and lifesaving impact. With hospitals relying on a steady blood supply to care for patients every day, donations collected at large-scale community drives like this one play a critical role in meeting ongoing needs.
NYBC extends sincere thanks to the New York Islanders organization, UBS Arena, and every donor who took the time to roll up a sleeve and make a difference. Their commitment demonstrates what’s possible when partners come together—on and off the ice—to support patients and families in need.
