On July 21, Long Islanders came together for 3-year-old Selena Rose, a bright and brave little girl fighting leukemia.
A blood drive in honor of Selena at the North Massapequa Fire Department yielded 91 blood donations—enough to help save up to 273 lives. Blood transfusions are a critical part of treatment for many children battling cancer, and every donation helps give families like Selena’s hope.
Thank you to Selena’s family, friends and neighbors for organizing this incredible blood drive, and to every donor, volunteer and supporter who made it possible. Your kindness will make a difference for patients who need blood today and in the days ahead.
