NYBC, Delcon & Cefriel Collaborative Blood Donation Device Receives ADI Compasso d’Oro Award

The device is the only medical device to win an award this year from the permanent Design Observatory

NYBC’s collaboration with Delcon, an Italian company that designs and manufactures medical devices and software for the blood supply chain, and Cefriel, a center of excellence for digital innovation, resulted in the creation of an award-winning blood donation device. The new blood donation scale is named ‘Milano’ in honor of the Italian capital of design and was recently announced as one of 20 winners of the XXVII edition of the ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale, or Industrial Design Association) Compasso d’Oro Award.The device is the only medical device to win an award this year from the permanent Design Observatory, and it was designed to meet the needs of blood centers in the U.S. and around the world, with emphasis on logistics in mobile collections.
