New York Blood Center (NYBC) has announced the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art Fishkill donor center located at 584 Route US-9, Fishkill, on September 11th. The new center will welcome volunteer blood donors, whose selfless contributions help to save lives.

NYBC was joined by State Senator Rob Rolinson, Fishkill Mayor Kathleen Martin, representatives from Senator Chuck Schumer and Assemblymember Anil Beephan’s offices, and other local elected officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of this crucial new donor center.

NYBC is proud to have served the Dutchess County community for 60 years. The prior East Fishkill Donor Center on Route 52 was generously donated by IBM more than 40 years ago and was supported by other corporate sponsors throughout the decades. It has generated more than 200,000 lifesaving blood and platelet donations for our community blood supply.

Pandemic-related remote and blended work schedules have resulted in fewer community blood drives, and there has been a 50% decrease in youth and first-time blood donors. The new Fishkill donor center will help combat the steep decrease in donations and the current blood emergency. To schedule a donation appointment, please visit NYBC’s website or call (800) 933-2566. Your donation today can help save lives tomorrow.
