Flexible laboratory facilities, modern infrastructure, specialized equipment and on-site expertise now available at NYBCe’s new Rye campus
RYE, NEW YORK – New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe) today announced Rye Bio, a premier life sciences incubator designed to support early- to mid-stage biotech and life sciences companies. Housed on NYBCe’s new 187,000-square-foot Rye campus, Rye Bio offers flexible lab space, high-end infrastructure, and access to on-site scientific expertise.
Rye Bio is powered by NYBCe’s Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute (LFKRI), a global leader in hematology, transfusion medicine, and cellular therapy research. Companies joining the incubator will work in proximity to top-tier researchers and fellow innovators, including The Rogosin Institute, which has been transforming the diagnosis and treatment of chronic kidney disease across the country.
Key features of Rye Bio include:
- Multifunctional lab space with workspace rentals
- Modern infrastructure designed for research and innovation
- A growing community of scientists and entrepreneurs
- Collaboration café with quality food service
- Easy access to NYC and the broader tri-state area
“Welcoming new and innovative life science companies to our labs allows us to foster much-needed collaboration in the industry, which is integral in supporting the goals of our global health mission,” said Dr. Larry Luchsinger, Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer, LFKRI & New York Blood Center Enterprises. “It is also our hope that by opening our doors to early- and mid-stage biotech companies and allowing them to use our state-of-the-art equipment, we are further positioning our Rye campus as a life science hub in the heart of Westchester.”
“Working in close proximity to world-class scientists at New York Blood Center Enterprises’ Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute creates a highly collaborative and inspiring environment. Between the high-quality equipment, 24/7 secure access, and availability of specialized services like flow cytometry and cleanroom facilities, we had everything we needed to hit the ground running. It’s an ideal setup for any early to mid-stage biotech company looking to scale,” said Leif Oxburgh, DVM, PhD, Director of the Kidney Regenerative Medicine Laboratory at The Rogosin Institute.
Located in the heart of Westchester County, Rye Bio is conveniently located at the intersection of I-95, I-287, and US Route 1, with ample parking available, and just steps from Metro North and AMTRAK public transportation.
Earlier this year, NYBCe opened its new 187,000-square-foot master campus that allows for more efficient service to hospitals throughout Westchester County, Hudson Valley, and tri-state area. The new Rye campus is the first single-site home for NYBCe’s tri-state operations — bringing together blood collections, life sciences research, processing, and cell therapy manufacturing under one roof.
