Congratulations to LFKRI Sub-Investigator/Junior Faculty Jorge H. Soler, PhD, MPH, who was elected Chair of the HIV Planning Group (HPG) for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for 2022! Dr. Soler became an HPG member in 2018, and he held several leadership positions for one of the workgroups from 2019-2021.
Created in 1994, HPG is a joint effort of community and governmental representatives and agencies that works to inform the development and update of a comprehensive Integrated HIV Prevention and Care Plan. To ensure HPG membership is fully representative of the communities impacted by HIV/AIDS, the Group includes members who are social service providers or managers at community-based organizations as well as physicians and researchers who work with populations affected by HIV/AIDS.
