Thousands of COVID-19 patients have received convalescent plasma as a treatment for coronavirus, and the results of a clinical trial in Argentina recently published in The New England Journal of Medicine have shown that plasma from recovered COVID-19 patients can keep older adults from getting seriously ill with the virus if they receive the therapy within days of onset of the condition. The study is one of the first clinical trials to show that convalescent plasma can be beneficial therapy.
