The Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute (LFKRI) at New York Blood Center (NYBC) is soliciting applications for faculty positions at Assistant, Associate and Full Member levels in immunology. Applicants should have an M.D., Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree and a record of achievements, and are expected to develop an independent, externally funded research program focused on aspects of immunobiology relevant to human health, disease, or treatment. Candidates who are interested in T cell biology, autoimmunity, or the development of adoptive cellular therapies are particularly encouraged to apply.
LFKRI consists of faculty members with diverse expertise spanning basic and translational investigation into the cellular, molecular and biochemical basis of hematology and is the largest non-profit research institute of classical hematology in the world. Through multi-disciplinary research hubs that foster collaboration, LFKRI’s dynamic and collaborative faculty are engaged in NIH-funded programs in stem cell and progenitor biology, immunobiology of blood disorders and transfusion therapy, infectious disease prevention and control, and genomics and data science.
Located along the Upper East Side in Manhattan, LFKRI faculty are supported with a wide variety of shared core facilities, including state-of-the-art flow cytometry, confocal and EM microscopy, GMP-compliant research spaces, internal IACUC and IRB support and access to the NYBC enterprise blood donor resources providing candidate faculty with an exciting opportunity to engage in collaborative cutting-edge research in transfusion and regenerative medicine. To support faculty in postdoctoral research fellow recruitment, LFKRI covers any external talent recruiter fees and funds the postdoc housing allowance of $20K and assists with visa application processes. Salary
For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $110,000/year to $250,000/year, and commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
